Teaching Methods

Minneapolis School of Brass has developed a specific curriculum for trumpet, trombone and euphonium. The "Parke Method for the Young Virtuoso" is a comprehensive 3-part series of method books intended to systematically introduce the fundamentals of music. Each book consists of warm-ups, lip slurs, method (introducing new fundamentals for the chapter), etudes, technical exercises, and repertoire. Each book takes approximately 2 years to successfully complete.

Minneapolis School of Brass charges a flat monthly rate. Over the course of the session this will equal out to 4 lessons per month.

Lessons are normally once a week for 30 minutes. More advanced students may wish to take weekly 45 minute or 1 hour lessons.

Missed Lesson Policy

Missed lessons may be made up as time allows if 24 hour notice is given of the absence (exceptions are made for illness or family emergencies such as a death in the family). Invoices are sent out each month along with a student grade report.
